Skibbereen Heritage Centre visit

Our 4th, 5th and 6th class children had a fantastic history trip to Skibbereen recently to visit Famine sites. They began with a tour of the Skibbereen Heritage Centre and then walked along the river walk to Abbeystrewry Cemetery to see the Famine plots. They also visited the site of the Skibbereen Workhouse at the hospital grounds, some sites on North Street and Windmill Lane, as well as the Rock Amenity Park before a final stop at Chapel Yard cemetery. The fabulous weather also called for ice cream!
