Active School Week

At Union Hall we organise an Active School Week (ASW) as part of the annual school calendar every year. It is usually in the month of June so as to incorporate sailing and outdoor activities, offering the children more of a choice of fun activities. The focus of the programme is FUN and INCLUSION for all.
Mr O'Donovan, along with the Active School committee, asks the children from all classes what they would like and what they think would be fun activities. Our teachers, especially our Principal Mr McCarthy, are challenged to find ways to teach subjects in a more physically active way throughout the week. They never let us down.
The school tour comprises part of the Active Week and provides a wonderful opportunity to include new fun physical activities.
Every year we try to include something different and new when organising our school tour to accommodate new activities for our Active School Week, such as kayaking, climbing, orienteering, archery and many more interesting activities.
