Red Hugh O'Donnell Commemoration 2023

The children of fifth and sixth class visited Castlehaven Strand this May to attend an historical event commemorating Red Hugh O'Donnell, who left Ireland from this strand after the Battle of Kinsale. Local historians, members of the coastguard, pupils from Castletownshend NS sixth class, and visitors from Donegal, where Red Hugh O'Donnell was from, were also in attendance.
